COVID-19 & Other Risks - Ski Resorts

Participation in activities at ski resorts may involve close contact with other people and frequently touched surfaces or objects. The chances of COVID-19 spreading during these activities depends on the properties of the setting, the number and characteristics of people who attend (e.g. age, maturity, physical ability, comprehension), proximity, durations and types of interactions between participants, as well as the mitigation measures put in place by employers and facility managers.

Tip:

Do not exceed the maximum gathering and event limits for your jurisdiction.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Ensure that all activities, (e.g., gondola use, skiing, snowboard, in-house dining) follow physical distancing guidelines with only members from the same household or bubble.

  2. Consider staggered times for gondola use

  3. We may have cohort groups for structured activities where physical distancing would be difficult (with your consent)

  4. A mask or balaclava is recommended at all times except for eating and drinking

  5. Instructor will avoid touching or close contact without a mask/ gaiter

Other Risks

Skiing or any winter sport takes on a risk of injury, so it is important to protect yourselves and others by exercising caution.

  1. Do not willingly attempt risky maneuvers such as skiing straight down without stopping

  2. Check your surroundings and remain focused on the hill

*The hill or instructor is not liable for an injury caused during instruction. A waiver will need to be signed by the participant to except them from responsibility if you or a member get injuring during the lesson.
